The Brown County Fairground is held at 1500 Fort Howard Ave in DePere.  It begins Wednesday, August 16th and goes til Sunday, August 20th.

Pricing:  $12.00 at the gate and $7.00 on Sunday, August 20th.

Children 3 and under are free at the gate.

A ride pass for children 3 and under is $5.00

There will be fireworks shooting off at dusk on opening day of the fair.

Study Reports Student Hand washing Behavior

This study was conducted by 3 researchers that observed the hand washing behaviors of students from 2 independent single-sex private schools in Pennsylvania.  Observations were conducted over a 4-week period at different times of the day and various bathrooms.  The results showed that 58% of female students washed their hands after bathroom use, compared with 48% for male students.  Female students used soap 28% of the time, while male students used soap 8% of the time.  Female students washed their ...

The Effect of a Comprehensive Hand Washing Program on Absenteeism in Elementary Schools

290 students from 5 independent schools were enrolled in the study.  Each test classroom had a control classroom, and only the test classroom received the intervention (education program and hand sanitizer).  Absenteeism data was collected for 3 months.  The # of absences was 50.6% lower in the test group.  The conclusion of the study strongly suggests that a hand hygiene program that combines education and use of a hand sanitizer in the classroom can lower absenteeism and be cost-effective.
